Last updated: 22 June 2026
Where are we at with the invitation rounds for 189s and 190s?
We had a final 189 round in early June 2026. Results of exact points and invites are still to come, but that will be it for the current financial year. Plus a few states had some of their last rounds.
TLDR: If you’re still waiting for an invitation and don’t have much time left on your visa, you need to look at your back up options ASAP.
The Govt have flagged points test changes in the May 2026 Budget, which could mean changes in the new financial year program BUT they have been promising imminent changes to this since they assumed Govt in May 2022, so we are not holding our breath on this one.
if you haven’t received aNovember was a HUGE month for all EOI hopefuls. There was a second and BIG round for the 189 visa from the federal government; plus the state governments were issued their final allocations and a number of them ran invitation rounds!
