OFFICIAL 189 Invitation Round List – Occupations & Points (13 Nov 2025)

FY2025-2026 189, 190 and 491 Visa Invitation Update

Last updated: 4 December 2025

Since our last update, the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) have released the OFFICIAL LIST of the exact occupations and points for the 189 visa invitations issued in ROUND 2 of 189 invitations on the 13 November 2025.

This release gives us the clearest picture of where the cut offs sit across the range of occupations and what occupations are being targeted. The points listed against each occupation reflect the minimum score invited on that date. It is also important to note that these minimums don’t guarantee an invitation in future rounds at that same level.

Another point of interest is the size of this round, with this first round totalling 10,000 invitations sent out, much higher than the first round in Aug 2025…AND DOES THIS MEAN IT’S OVER FOR THE YEAR?!! They said ‘quarterly rounds’ but planning levels for this year are 16,900 and they’ve now issued 16,887 invites!!

…But planning levels for the state nominated (190 and 491) are up at 33,000 yet the states have only been allocated 20,350…

🕵🤔

Regardless, this highlights the importance of getting your EOI in the system as early as possible, so that you are eligible for all possible rounds. But also, having an EOI that is correct, so if you do defy the odds and get invited, you can confidently lodge the visa. Since 13 Nov, we’ve spoken with SO many people who got an invite, but then panicked something in their EOI wasn’t quite right. For some, we’ve had to break some bad news. 😭 Don’t wait until you get invited to get it right, as then it’s already too late!

Get your EOI submitted and be confident you have the highest level of points possible – Book a chat with us to go through your points in detail!

We will continue to keep a close eye on the program and provide updates as soon as further invitation rounds are announced. We’ve got an update coming shortly on the state governments status as they have received their final allocations in the last few weeks.
