2025 MIGRATION INCREASES COMING SOON - SALARIES, VISA FEES AND MORE

Every year, 1 July marks a number of increases to various monetary amounts that are relevant to the Migration Regulations - such as visa application fees, minimum salaries, FWHIT figures and so on. These are released at various stages in the lead up to the end of financial year, some being only a few days in advance.

Below is what we know so far for 1 July 2025

Visa Application Fees

Citizenship Application Fees

The usual application fee for citizenship will be increasing from $560 to $575 from 1 July 2025.

Minimum Sponsorship Salaries

From 1 July 2025, skilled visa income limits will go up by 4.6%. This matches changes to the annual Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE).

  • The Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT) will rise from $73,150 to $76,515. This will affect nomination applications for the Core Skills stream of the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) and the Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186).

  • The Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT) will increase from $135,000 to $141,210. This will affect nomination applications for the Specialist Skills stream of the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482).

  • The Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will increase from $73,150 to $76,515. This will affect nomination applications for the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (subclass 494).

New nomination applications from 1 July 2025, must meet the new relevant income threshold or the annual market salary rate, whichever is higher. The increased skilled visa income thresholds won’t apply to existing visa holders or nominations made by 30 June 2025.

Fair Work High Income Threshold

Relevant to those who may utilise the high salary as an exemption to the age criteria of the subclass 186 in the TRT stream. The FWHIT will increase from $175,000 to $183,100.

Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) Appeal Fees

The fee for review of a reviewable migration decision (other than a protection decision) will increase to $3,580.
