2025 MIGRATION INCREASES COMING SOON - SALARIES, VISA FEES AND MORE

Every year, 1 July marks a number of increases to various monetary amounts that are relevant to the Migration Regulations - such as visa application fees, minimum salaries, FWHIT figures and so on. These are released at various stages in the lead up to the end of financial year, some being only a few days in advance.

Citizenship Application Fees

The usual application fee for citizenship will be increasing from $560 to $575 from 1 July 2025.

Minimum Sponsorship Salaries

From July 1, 2025, skilled visa income limits will go up by 4.6%. This matches changes to the annual Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE).

  • The Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT) will rise from AUD73,150 to AUD76,515. This will affect nomination applications for the Core Skills stream of the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) and the Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186).

  • The Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT) will increase from AUD135,000 to AUD141,210. This will affect nomination applications for the Specialist Skills stream of the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482).

  • The Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will increase from AUD73,150 to AUD76,515. This will affect nomination applications for the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (subclass 494).

New nomination applications from July 1, 2025, must meet the new relevant income threshold or the annual market salary rate, whichever is higher. The increased skilled visa income thresholds won’t apply to existing visa holders or nominations made before July 1, 2025.
